We were engaged by an early stage Beijing video online marketing platform to be its corporate and financial advisor for its second round funding. 

Given the lack of established profitable business and revenue models in the video online space, the challenge of this assignment was twofold: an executable strategy to monetize the subscribers of this platform and a valuation thereon. 

We jointly developed a 5-Year strategy, business plan and financial projection with senior management, which consisted of a three-step iterative and concurrent approach:

  • Establishing a critical mass of “sticky” subscribers

  • Bundling of the subscribers’ online behaviour into advertising packages

  • Building a business model thereon

Our client secured financing from a listed player in a related industry that was looking to expand its portfolio of products in China.
